The Portland Trail Blazers’ foundation sponsors several initiatives for the betterment of the community. One such project is Classroom 101, which involves students in grant making and volunteering in community service projects. During the 2014-2015 season, the foundation made donations to three local high schools.

New to the foundation’s efforts are the Sport for Health Grants. In program’s first year, the Sport for Health Grants provided up to $15,000 for funding organizations that promoted fitness for children. Applications for the second year will be available in spring 2016.

The foundation’s fundraising opportunities include the Rip City 50-50 raffle, held during Trail Blazers’ home games. Proceeds from the raffle are split evenly between the winner and nonprofit organizations in Oregon and southwest Washington. Additionally, the foundation receives financial support from Safeway, Wells Fargo, and the Moda Center, the Trail Blazers’ home arena.
